Owner Crystal Stanley said she and her husband, Chris, started looking for a possible new location with not only greater square footage, but also more organic foot traffic.
“We happened to travel to Miamisburg one weekend to have dinner and while walking down Main Street stumbled upon a storefront for rent,” Stanley said. “Amazed with how Miamisburg had grown, I immediately knew this was the right move to grow the boutique.”
Making the move to Miamisburg “definitely had some challenges” to design the store to reflect the Paddock Road brand, but after about a month of numerous late nights, Stanley and her husband finished the renovation.
She said the boutique is “a little boho and a little country.”
”Paddock Road Boutique draws inspiration from my grandmother, who, despite financial constraints, always presented herself with style and grace,” Stanley said. “Her ability to make smart fashion choices is a guiding principle for our boutique, where neutral tones predominate, enabling customers to create a multitude of outfits and can be seamlessly integrated into our existing wardrobe.”
The name of the boutique comes from the Preble County road on which Stanley’s grandmother lived.
Stanley said Paddock Road Boutique also periodically features throughout its curated collections a wildflower color “because we all have a little wildflower in us and this will give a pop of color to add to our wardrobe.”
There also is a section of the store dedicated to wax melts by Bulletproof 189, a small business with whom Stanley has collaborated to develop a personal fragrance specific to the boutique. The Paddock Road wax melt is available along with many other fragrances developed by Bulletproof 189.
Stanley said she wanted to own and operate such a business because she’s always loved fashion and jewelry. Then, when she lost her prior job in 2023 via a reorganization, she decided to try something new.
The extra room at the new Miamisburg shop enabled Paddock Road Boutique to have a customizable brimmed hat bar in the back of the store where customers can curate a one-of-a-kind self-designed hat. The large space also gave the shop the ability to have another fitting room, and room to host events.
*We have completed the interior,” she said. “We may make some changes as we grow, but for now we are happy to be done.”
