The Southwest Ohio area is likely to get snow this weekend as wintry precipitation moves in.

The entire region was under a Winter Weather Advisory from 7 a.m. Saturday through 9 a.m. Sunday, issued by the National Weather Service in Wilmington, but has since been cancelled. The NWS predicted 1 to 4 inches of snow initially.

West winds of 20 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph, are likely through midafternoon. Winds will slowly subside late in the day, according to the NWS.

Temperatures will be in the 30’s for highs and lows.

More wintry precipitation will be possible again on Monday night into Tuesday, the NWS said, which could bring additional snow.

The agency said residents should watch out for slippery roads, especially on bridges and overpasses that more quickly become slick and hazardous.
