Howard, Michael

Michael Howard Sr, 74, of Springfield, born June 12, 1950, the son of Esther (Cooper) and Donald Howard Sr., went home to be with the Lord on December 29, 2024. He was proceded in death by both his parents, 6 brothers Kenny, Donald Jr, Philip, Steven, Daryl, Wayne Howard, 3 sisters Tammy Furr, Kimberly Howard, and Tina Storey, father and mother- in-law Nathan and Mary Harris Sr., brother's-in-law John, Nathan Jr., and Adriel Harris.

He went to South High and then worked at International Harvester. He got laid off and went into the Marines. Later he moved to Atlanta, Georgia and he was a supervisor in a construction business. He returned to Springfield, working for several companies Rawack, Fuel Systems and finally as a lead worker at American Pan from where he retired. He loved football and coached for years, his 3 sons included, and started on his grandsons.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Iris (Harris) Howard of 50 years; daughters, Alisha (Marvin) of Cincinnati, Myra Howard, Jasmine (Shawn) Thompson of Springfield; sons, Michael Howard Jr. of Arizona, Brian (Keysha) of Texas, Daryl of Springfield; brothers, Mark (Nancy), Brian (Michelle), Arnold (AnnMarie); sisters, Roxanne Howard of Arizona, Mia (Steve) Davenport of Springfield; sisters-in-law, Gloria Davis and Charmaine Howard of Springfield, Rasiland (Harry) Satenstein of Pennsylvania; brothers-in-law Paul Storey of Springfield, David and Donald Lynne of Michigan; special friend, Robert Wells Springfield, 21 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.

Service will be held on Saturday January 11, 2025, at Greater Grace Temple, 380 W Leffel Ln. Visitation will be at 10:00am with family present at 11:00am until the time of service which will be at 12pm with Bishop Ronald Logan. Interment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
