The Butler County Crisis Hotline/Hopeline service has been restored after being down since Thursday evening.

The line, run by the Butler County Mental Health and Addiction Recovery Services Board, offers assistance to those with immediate behavioral health crisis needs, as well as information and referral services.

The Butler County Crisis Hotline/Hopeline was restored to full operation at 5:30 p.m. Friday, said Butler County MHARS Board Executive Director Scott Rasmus.

“Our apologies again to anyone who was let down by this situation,” he said.

Despite not having access to the local hotline/helpline — 844-427-4747 — people were able to seek assistance through 988, the National Crisis Hotline.

Rasmus said he and his staff had worked with Beckett Springs Hospital, the hotline provider, and Verizon to restore service.

“We know how important this service is to the Butler County community,” Rasmus said.
