Woman’s death being investigated as homicide after body found in Dayton home

Around 1:30 p.m. Monday, a woman reported a 29-year-old woman was found dead at a house in the 100 block of Hudson Avenue.

The caller hadn’t heard from the woman for three days and went to check on her, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch records.

“She’s been here for a couple of days and this is like day three,” she said. “She normally calls every day.”

The caller said the woman’s back door was open.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as Michaela Carpenter.

Johns confirmed the Carpenter’s death is being treated as a homicide.
