UPDATE: 54-year-old man killed in hit-and-run crash in Harrison Twp. ID’d

A man who died after being hit by a vehicle in Harrison Twp. Monday has been identified.

William Skipper, 54, was pronounced dead at Kettering Health Dayton, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the crash.

Around 7:04 a.m. Monday deputies responded to North Main Street near East Orchard Springs Drive.

Deputies arrived and found a man, later identified as Skipper, who had been hit by a car. Medics transported him to Kettering Health Dayton, where he succumbed to his injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.

The car left before deputies arrived on scene.

A preliminary investigation indicated a white sedan was going north on North Main Street when it hit Skipper as he was crossing the street.

The sedan was seen stopping in the center lane before continuing north on North Main Street, according to the sheriff’s office.

The crash temporarily closed North Main Street in both directions.
