A woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after she was ejected from a vehicle during a crash on U.S. 35 in Beavercreek Tuesday morning.

The crash temporarily closed U.S. 35 West near Interstate 675 as Beavercreek police and medics cleared the scene.

A preliminary investigation determined a vehicle failed to maintain an assured clear distance and hit a second vehicle, said Beavercreek police Capt. Scott Molnar.

The impact caused the second vehicle to hit a third vehicle.

Two vehicles overturned. Crews had to remove a person from the first vehicle, but they were not injured, Molnar said.

A woman driving the second overturned vehicle was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected.

Crews transported her to Miami Valley Hospital. The extent of her injuries was not known as of Wednesday, but Molnar said she was breathing and conscious prior to being taken to the hospital.

Speed was likely a factor in the crash, he added.
