Centerville police are investigating after shots were fired in connection to a road rage incident Thursday morning.

No one was shot and there is no threat to the community, said Centerville police Officer Ryan Turner.

The gunfire was reported in the first block of Westpark Road around 7:30 a.m.

“Someone tried to run me over and I fired shots at him,” a 911 caller told dispatchers.

The caller said the other driver tried to pass him in a school zone.

“He put his truck in reverse and tried to hit me, and I fired two shots at him,” the caller said.

The other driver also called 911 to report someone shot at him.

“This guy was doing 10 miles an hour, so I went to go around him,” he said. “He wouldn’t let me pass and then he followed me to work. And then fired shots at me.”

The caller said the gunfire broke a window in his truck, but he declined to see a medic.

There were no passengers in either of the two vehicles involved, Turned said.

The investigation is ongoing, and more information is expected to be available on Friday.
