Multiple snow emergencies were declared across Southwest Oho Monday after a winter storm brought heavy snowfall to the region.
While snow ended in most areas Monday afternoon, significant amounts were left behind. Riverside, near Wright-Patterson, saw 8.2 inches of snow as of 1:40 p.m. Monday. Beavercreek received 8.5 inches as of shortly before 11 a.m. Monday. Fairborn, also near the base, got seven inches as of 8 a.m. Monday.

Wright-Patterson Air Force Base has a working population of about 38,000 people, higher than any other single-site concentration of employment in the state of Ohio.
Meanwhile, the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, Air Force Museum Foundation and National Aviation Hall of Fame will continue to be closed on Tuesday.
All events and activities scheduled at the museum in the near-term will be cancelled or postponed, the museum said.
“While we regret the inconvenience that the closure of the museum will cause, it is a necessary step to take given the current elevated risks associated with severe icy weather,” the museum said.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for partly sunny conditions, with a high near 28 Tuesday. A northwest wind of 5 to 8 mph is expected.
