“Administrator Snyder had another successful year of dedicated, fiscally responsible public service,” Trustee President Terry Posey Jr. told this news outlet. “It was well deserved.”
Snyder has worked for the township since 2001, when he was hired as code enforcement officer. He was promoted to senior planner in 2003, to assistant planning director in 2006 and director of community development in 2014. He became the township’s assistant administrator in June 2021 and its administrator in August 2022.
He previously worked as a planner for the Fairfield County Regional Planning Commission in Lancaster from 1999 to 2001.
“I believe we have accomplished a lot as a team, managed a number of changes in the organization these last couple of years and I look forward to working on many new projects in the coming year with both the board and the rest of the staff of Miami Twp.,” Snyder said during Tuesday’s board of trustees meeting.
Miami Twp. is the second largest township in the core Dayton region, with a total population of about 52,000 (smaller than Kettering, larger than Beavercreek). The unincorporated portion, which is the primary focus of township government, has about 30,000 people, smaller than Fairborn, but larger than Centerville, Trotwood or Troy.
Snyder serves as president of the Montgomery County Township Association, working with all nine townships in Montgomery County to foster collaboration on issues affecting townships.
