Garrison received the most votes with 17.09% of the vote; Rhynard got 16.59%; Lacey got 15% and Goodwine got 14.7%.
Garrison, a newcomer, thanked those who had voted for her and said she appreciated that so many voters had done their research beforehand.
“I’m looking forward to hitting the ground running,” Garrison said.
Garrison is a graduate of Dunbar High School who works at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Rhynard, an incumbent to the board and the parent of four children who attended Dayton Public, thanked the voters.
“I’m just so grateful I earned the trust of the city of Dayton,” she said.
Chrisondra Goodwine, Lacey and Virgil Goodwine ran as a team.
Chrisondra Goodwine, the Jefferson Twp. administrator, is the current board president, while Lacey, the head of cash management for the Montgomery County Treasurer’s Office, has been on the board for a total of 16 years.
Virgil Goodwine is Chrisondra Goodwine’s brother and dean of humanities at Wilberforce University.
Chrisondra Goodwine thanked the voters and said she was excited to continue the work for another four years.
Lacey said he was grateful to the voters and said he felt he and the two Goodwines had run a great campaign.
The remaining candidates trailed in unofficial, final results with Ken Hayes, an English professor at Central State, at 13.2%; Ann Marie Gallin (Mario), a former board member, receiving 12.1% and Virgil Goodwine at 11.2%.
Current board member Karen Wick ran for Dayton City Commission but lost with 22% of the vote.
The remaining three board members - Will Smith, Eric Walker and William Bailey - will be up for reelection in 2027.
