A man pulled up the flooring and found what appeared to be a leg bone. He also found a possible jawbone.
Warren Hensley, an investigator with the Greene County Coroner’s Office, said some of the bones are “definitely human” and others are “possibly human.”
They appeared to come from the same person, he added.
Texas Equusearch responded to help exhume the remains, which were then take to the coroner’s office for further investigation.
It’s not clear how long the bones have been there, but Hensley said they could be pretty old.
A deputy noted the ground under the porch was soft and had burrows and animal carcasses. It “had been this way for a while,” according to the incident report.
The incident remains under investigation.
