34-year-old man killed in semi crash on I-75 in Dayton

A 34-year-old man was identified as the person killed in a four-vehicle crash Thursday near downtown Dayton that kept traffic backed up for at least six hours.

Kevin M. Brendle was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

The crash occurred around 10:55 a.m. at I-75 North and U.S. 35.

Two semi trucks, a work van and a work pickup truck were involved, according to Dayton police.

The crash closed all I-75 northbound lanes and the left lane on I-75 South for around five hours.

The area reopened around 4 p.m.
