The airplane was reportedly having issues with its landing gear and hydraulics. Turner said there was also a problem with an indicator light.
Earlier this week a plane heading to Chicago made an emergency landing in Dayton due to smoke in the cockpit.
The SkyWest flight landed safely and without injuries.
The airplane had departed from Charleston, West Virginia, Monday when it diverted to Dayton following a “mechanical indication,” according to a statement from SkyWest.
Turner said earlier this week it wasn’t clear what caused the smoke and that a mechanic would need to examine the plane.
