Around 9 p.m., Dayton officers responded to a reported shooting in the 600 block of Troy Street.
A 911 caller said her wife was shot outside the Family Dollar.
“She’s bleeding,” the caller said. “I need an ambulance.”
She said she thought her wife was shot in the chest, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch records.
The caller could not provide any suspect information to dispatchers.
When police arrived, they started providing medical attention to the 26-year-old woman, said Dayton police Lt. Eric Sheldon.
She was taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries.
The Dayton Police Department Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting.
