Coroner IDs Troy man killed in downtown Dayton crash

A Troy man who died following a single-vehicle crash on Saturday morning in Dayton has been identified.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office identified him as 59-year-old Sean Paul Brown.

Crews responded to reports of a crash around 7:08 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Webster Street and East Third Street, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch.

Dispatch confirmed the crash, but did not give additional details.

A 2011 Chevrolet Traverse was going south on Webster Street when Brown lost control of the SUV and it crossed the East Third Street intersection, hitting a retaining wall, according to a Dayton police crash report.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police did not give cause for the crash, but said speed is a possible factor.

The Dayton Police Department’s Traffic Services Unit is investigating the crash.
