Vandalia man sentenced to prison for child sexual abuse material on Google cloud

At the time of writing, McDowell was in the Montgomery County Jail.

McDowell was originally charged with pandering sexually-oriented material involving a minor and pandering obscenity involving a minor after a Vandalia police investigation.

According to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office, police began investigating McDowell based on a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force that said they believed he had child sexual abuse material on his Google cloud.

Police served a search warrant and found multiple images and videos of minors, the prosecutor’s office said.

None of the children are believed to be local children, the prosecutor’s office said.
