As part of that probation, the judge ordered that Kassis undergo mental health and substance abuse evaluations, not have contact with his codefendant John Navarro and not work in any job where he conducts financial transactions, handles cash or has access to other people’s financial information.
Kassis and Navarro were accused of forging checks belonging to a 68-year-old and 70-year-old and then cashing them in Washington Twp. around March 14, 2024, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.
Navarro was indicted on two counts of forgery and four counts of theft, but one count of forgery and two counts of theft were dismissed in October 2024 and no pending hearings were scheduled in the case.
